Hey guys, We just released the new Web Piston and the new site for baby websites. Please feel free to visit them and send me any feedback or comments to suggestions@webpiston.com.

Also, we are working hard on a redesign of the "Advanced Console" so that you guys can modify your pages and add pages using a What You See is What you Get (WYSIWYG) editor. We feel this will greatly enhance the site building experience for our advanced users. We are planning on releasing the new advanced console some time in April.

December update

Dear Web Pistonites,
We have moved to our new office located in North Tampa. We are very happy as we are purchasing the building instead of renting the space. Our new facility is designed for our development crew and technical support group, allowing us to grow easily as the company grows. The transition to the new place was very efficient, we started the move late Friday afternoon and we finished the move late on Sunday.

With that said, the development efforts for Web Piston have continued strong as always. We are getting close to release Web Piston 9. The new release will include very cool functionality, like a rotating image block that will allow you to add a slide show to any page, a contact form backend, so you can see all the contact forms that visitors fill in directly from the Web Piston console and a migration of all our email to Imail.

We have decided to move our email server to Imail as it provides best of breed antispam and antivirus software. Imail is an industry leading email solution. We will have all the Web Piston email accounts migrated to Imail by the end of January. Your level of spam will decrease significantly as soon as we implement it.

I will keep you posted with new developments.

Enjoy the holidays.

We have been very busy in our new development cycle of Web Piston. We are currently working on awesome new technology that will allow you to customize you site even more. We are also working on moving our email platform to Imail as we believe they have superior functionality that our site owners will love. We expect the move to be done some time in December. As always, the migration will be painless and transparent for you guys and we will give you ample notice of our maintenance hours.

I am proud to say this year has been great for us and I would like to thank all our faithful customers and fans that give us such good feedback on the tool to allow us to constantly improve it.

Finally, we are also working on a new improved image bank that we will release very soon.

Best regards and enjoy the upcoming holiday,

Web Piston 9 is in the works

Dear Pistonites,

I just wanted to keep you updated with our progress. We are currently working on adding a contact form database to the contact us page so user requests will be both emailed and saved in the database. This will allow users to download their client information and use it mailings and other types of user interactions.

We are also working on a build your template assistant that will allow our users to build a template from scratch for their site. We are very excited about this new development and it will provide the first template builder of its kind. It will allow our users to make their sites as custom as they wish. We are planning on releasing this functionality at the end of the year.

I will keep you posted with our development progress.

Thanks,

Web Piston releases Fanadu.com the online community for Sports Fans

It is only so often that an innovation comes along packing the power and promise to start a new craze.  The Tampa based software firm responsible for one of the most popular, highly acclaimed website builders, Web Piston, has developed another cutting edge system.  Fanadu, will change the way fans interact during their favorite events.

Fanadu is a MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) that will allow fans to take pictures, at a football game for example, using their camera phone and send it via email to their teams Fanadu website, where they get posted in real-time.  However, Fanadu does not only stick to camera phone photographs.  People using their digital cameras can send pictures to Fanadu via email as well.  Or if they want, people can upload their photos directly to the Fanadu website.

The purpose of Fanadu is to bring communities together, allowing them to share their experiences with other fans.   When people visit the Fanadu website, they can vote on the pictures, such as best fan outfit, cutest baby fan, best party and so forth.  Moreover, the fans unable to attend an event can check out the pictures and comments on Fanadu as they come in, gaining a sense of the atmosphere.

Fanadu is dedicated to housing the memories people would like to share and remember from their favorite events.  The service is free of charge and will be available for numerous event types, such as concerts, soccer, hockey, baseball, nascar and many more.   However, Fanadu is not limited to the actual event, some of the best pictures come from people gathering at their local sports bar and getting all hyped up about the game.

Fanadu is proud to support their home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and give their local community something to have fun with.  During the first home game, Fanadu employees will be joining their fellow Buc fans before, during and after the season opener.  For its official launch, Fanadu employees will be walking around with some specials guests, taking pictures of the fans and the tailgate parties, which will then get uploaded to www.fanadu.com

There are designated areas on the Fanadu website for each individual team as well as each different event. Fanadu is the perfect sit for NFL pictures and football fans.

Web Piston 8 update

Dear Web Piston users,
We are moving along very well with Web Piston 8. We are finishing up work on the new "build a page" assistant that will allow users to build any type of page through the assistant interface. We are also finalizing the calendar of events assistant and the new portfolio assistant.

The calendar of events assistant will allow you to add a calendar of events to your site so visitors can see what events you are planning or attending. It also allows users to send you an email so they can register for the event. This was one of the most requested features from the customer survey and we believe will add a lot of value to you. You will be able to access the calendar assistant from the Web Piston console.

The portfolio assistant will allow you to add a portfolio of you work to your site including photo albums. You can show your users what you have done in the past and what you can do for them in a very easy manner. Take some pictures of your work and upload them for everybody to see!

We will release Web Piston 8 very soon. We are on the final stages of development.

I will keep you posted with our progress. If you have any comments and suggestions please do not hesitate to send me an email.

Thanks.

Summer update

Dear Pistonites,

I have not posted too much lately and I wanted to give you a brief update. We sent a suggestion survey to our users and we would really like to thank everybody for the excellent feedback we got on Web Piston. We have added some features to the development pipeline based on the survey.

We are currently working on the next version of Web Piston. This will include a Build a Page Assistant that will let you add any type of pages through the Assistant interface. We have also updated the photo album so it runs completely in JavaScript so viewers do not need to download the Java applet to view the photo albums. We are also working on a Portfolio assistant, an upload media assistant for uploading documents and media, and a calendar assistant.

We are going to release the new functionality in small increments. Some of the new updated will be coming out very soon. I will keep you posted through the blog and email.

Have a great summer.
